Bojonegoro — At the 78th East Java Provincial Cooperative Day celebrations, Tuban Regent Aditya Halindra Faridzky, SE was honored with the 2025 Cooperative Development Leader Award. The accolade, presented by Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, was received on his behalf by Deputy Regent Joko Sarwono during the ceremony at Stadion Letjen H. Soedirman.
This recognition reflects Tuban Regency’s strong commitment to strengthening community-based economies. As of June 29, 2025, the local government has successfully established 311 Village Cooperatives and 17 Urban Ward Cooperatives under the Merah Putih initiative — ensuring every administrative unit in Tuban is equipped with a cooperative as an economic driver.
The cooperative expansion aligns with Indonesia’s constitutional vision of cooperatives as the backbone of the economy, promoting food security, equitable growth, and rural economic resilience.
In his remarks, the Deputy Regent emphasized that the award represents not just recognition but the tangible result of collaborative work between government and citizens. He also called on cooperatives to remain adaptive, innovative, and accountable to meet modern challenges, while encouraging younger generations to take an active role in sustaining the movement.
Looking ahead, Tuban will participate in the nationwide launch of 80,000 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives on July 21, 2025. The event, inaugurated online by the President of Indonesia from Klaten, will feature Tuban’s central celebration at Pucangan Village Field in Montong District.
The 2025 award serves not only as a milestone for Tuban’s cooperative movement but also as an inspiration for other regions to harness the cooperative model as a sustainable path to inclusive growth.
