Sragen – Regent Sigit Pamungkas of Sragen has been honoured with the 2025 Solopos Best Brand and Innovation (SBBI) Award as an “Inspiring Regional Leader” in the category of Local Wisdom-Based Development Innovation. The award was presented during the gala night at the Alila Hotel Ballroom in Solo on Friday, 18 July 2025.
Organised by Solopos Media Group under the theme “Sustain and Bold, Legacy Unfold,” the SBBI Awards recognise visionary individuals who consistently create meaningful and sustainable innovations. For Regent Sigit, the accolade serves as a strong motivation to further develop Sragen’s local potential.
“I sincerely thank Solopos for this recognition. It drives us to keep innovating through local wisdom. God willing, these innovations will bring prosperity and lasting benefits to the people of Sragen,” Sigit stated in his acceptance speech.
Outlining Sragen’s future development direction, he highlighted the region’s strategic location adjacent to Solo and Karanganyar. “Competing with Solo is difficult, but we can complement it. Sragen has extraordinary treasures, including the Sangiran site, where nearly 50 percent of the world’s Homo erectus fossils were found. That’s why Sragen deserves the title ‘The Land of Java Man,’” he explained.
The regent also introduced a unique culinary concept inspired by the prehistoric era — featuring creations such as “prehistoric eggs,” “prehistoric chicken,” and “prehistoric catfish” — aimed at promoting the region’s rich history as both a gateway to the past and a vision for the future.
This recognition further cements Sragen’s reputation as a region that embraces innovation while preserving its heritage, turning local identity into a solid foundation for sustainable growth and community pride.
