Jakarta – Otto Toto Sugiri has officially entered the ranks of Indonesia’s wealthiest, landing at the number five spot in the country according to Forbes Real-Time Billionaires as of July 7, 2025. With a net worth of US$6.8 billion (approximately IDR 110.5 trillion), Sugiri surpassed some of the country’s most prominent business figures—including Tahir and Marina Budiman.
His rise to the top is not just about wealth. It is a story of vision, grit, and an enduring contribution to Indonesia’s digital transformation.
Sugiri, 71, is the founder and CEO of PT DCI Indonesia Tbk (DCII), the nation’s leading data center provider. Since its IPO in January 2021—when shares were priced at just IDR 420—DCII has skyrocketed over 20,000 percent, reaching IDR 16,050 per share by April 2025. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the company reported IDR 773.55 billion in revenue and IDR 418.84 billion in net profit attributable to shareholders, marking an explosive 193% increase year-on-year.
Founded in 2011, DCII provides secure and reliable infrastructure for Indonesia’s tech, banking, and enterprise sectors. But Sugiri’s contributions to Indonesia’s digital landscape began decades earlier.
In 1989, he co-founded Sigma Cipta Caraka—now known as Telkomsigma after being acquired by Telkom Indonesia. Then, in 1994, Sugiri made history again by founding Indonet, Indonesia’s first internet service provider. Indonet went public in 2021, and Sugiri and his co-founders later sold their shares to Singapore-based Digital Edge in 2023.
His dedication to advancing Indonesia’s digital capabilities earned him national recognition. In August 2024, President Joko Widodo awarded Sugiri a national honor for his contributions to technological advancement—one of 64 recipients celebrated ahead of Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day.
“I believe I still have more to contribute to this country,” Sugiri said in a previous interview, reflecting on his decades-long journey in both public and private sectors.
Though now one of the richest individuals in the nation, Sugiri remains a symbol not just of success, but of purpose. His work has helped lay the foundation for Indonesia’s digital economy—and his story continues to inspire a generation of innovators, technologists, and nation-builders.
