During his official state visit to Malaysia, President Prabowo Subianto was conferred the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K I Johor) on January 27, 2025. The honor was personally presented by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim at the National Palace, underscoring Johor’s recognition of President Prabowo’s role in enhancing regional diplomacy.
Founded in 1886 by Sultan Abu Bakar, the Darjah Kerabat Johor is one of the most revered royal honors, awarded only to individuals with exceptional contributions to the strengthening of bilateral and regional relations. Its core message, “Muafakat Itu Berkat” or “Concord is a Blessing,” reflects a deep commitment to unity.
The presentation included a gold collar bearing Sultan Abu Bakar’s name in Jawi script and a nine-pointed star — symbols of tradition, leadership, and respect. These elements emphasize the historical weight of the award and the timeless values it represents.
By receiving this recognition, President Prabowo joins a respected lineage of leaders who have played a pivotal role in Southeast Asia’s political and cultural cooperation. Previous recipients include prominent figures like Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien and King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa.
The award affirms not only the strong ties between Indonesia and Malaysia but also the shared aspiration to promote stability, mutual growth, and ASEAN unity for years to come.
