The Agricultural Development Polytechnic (Polbangtan) Medan, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), invites millennials to become entrepreneurs in agriculture. This is in line with Polbangtan’s vision and mission as well as the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which is to form young entrepreneurs in agriculture who are advanced, independent, and modern.
Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that young entrepreneurs are important for the regeneration of skilled workers in agriculture. They are expected to become socio agripreneurs who maintain the sustainability of agricultural development and produce professional, independent, and competitive agricultural human resources.
To realize this, Polbangtan Medan held various activities, such as the Young Entrepreneur Public Lecture which is the Millennial Agriculture Forum Volume 12 Edition 5. This public lecture aims to provide practical insights on starting and managing new businesses, as well as inspiring participants to think broadly, develop new ideas, and create innovative solutions to problems in agriculture.
Head of the Agricultural Human Resources Development and Extension Agency (BPPSDMP) Dedi Nursyamsi encouraged Polbangtan Medan students and public lecture participants to become young farmers with agribusiness and entrepreneurial spirit.
Deputy for Diversified Consumption and Food Safety (PKKP) of the National Food Agency (BAPANAS) Andriko Noto Susanto explained the concept towards food sovereignty with young entrepreneurs. He explained that food has a very broad scope and young entrepreneurs in this field have many opportunities.
Founder and Chairman, Mcorp, a Leading Marketing Professional Service Firm in ASEAN, Hermawan Kartajaya emphasized the importance of identifying market needs to be more precise in creating businesses.
