Denpasar, Bali — The city of Denpasar has once again achieved national recognition, winning the Kejar Award 2025 presented by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK). The award honors Denpasar as the best city in implementing the One Student One Account (Kejar) program at the regency/municipal level.
The recognition was given during the celebration of National Saving Day and Financial Literacy Month. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto personally presented the award to Denpasar’s Deputy Mayor, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, who accepted it with pride and gratitude.
“This award represents appreciation for the efforts made by the City of Denpasar as a City of Education,” said Arya Wibawa. He emphasized that this milestone reflects the strong collaboration between the local government, the banking sector, OJK, and schools across Denpasar.
That synergy has produced impactful initiatives, including the requirement for students to maintain personal savings accounts. This simple yet meaningful step has cultivated a culture of saving among young people, while strengthening financial literacy across the community.
Head of Denpasar’s Education, Youth, and Sports Department, AA Gede Wiratama, highlighted that this year’s success marks the second time Denpasar has received the Kejar Award, after first achieving it in 2023. “Astungkara, the innovations we have introduced continue to deliver results, and this year Denpasar once again stands out as a national model,” he remarked with deep appreciation.
As Denpasar celebrates this recognition, the achievement serves as both a symbol of pride and a call to action—an inspiration to sustain and expand educational initiatives that prepare the younger generation with the values of responsibility, resilience, and financial awareness.
